Zoë Carpenter is The Nation’s assistant Washington editor. Her environmental reporting for The Nation includes an investigation of the federal coal-leasing program, and a close look at the influence of the petrochemical industry in Louisiana; she’s also written recently about radical librarians, phony populists, and a high-tech immigration enforcement program in New Orleans. Zoë has appeared on national radio and TV networks including MSNBC and CNN, and her work has been published in Rolling Stone and Guernica.
