Pieces of a piece for PEACE!
Pieces of a piece for PEACE! For the past eighteen years the artist Joe Peace has personally handmade and distributed over 400,000 ceramic pendants with words for "peace" in many languages. He will make it the rest of his life. Symbolically connecting people from around the world, it is A Peace Chain for a PEACE chain reaction!
A peaceful stance is more than a clothing company. It is a way of life. It has been created for the people in this world that have made a conscious decision to coexist in peace and want to make a difference. A peaceful stance means respecting the environment and working toward a better future. Taking a peaceful stance means never giving up on something you believe in. A peaceful stance means loving without limits and killing with kindness. A peaceful stance is to be shared and enjoyed and respected and appreciated. Voice your peaceful stance. At one point or another one thing will be very, very clear; without a peaceful stance, no one stands a chance...

Born in Chihuahua Mexico, Erik Alcaraz is a free spirit who, typical of all free spirits, has found the secret to happiness; riding the bicycleta that he has dubbed "Cuauhtémoc," all over the City of Los Angeles.
In the 80s and 90s Erik parlayed his happiness into a profession, by working with ABC Messenger service and Domino's Pizza in Downtown Los Angeles. Riding around the glorious Southern California sunshine he discovered the old adage is true, that work can be play when you love what you do.
However, one of Erik's proudest achievements has been to share the magic of bicycle riding with his three children; Oscar, Priscilla and Erik. Now all adults, they each commute to their jobs via bicycle and like their father, enjoy riding all the time.
Erik is a Certified League of American Bicyclist Instructor. As such, Erik's passion and focus is to educate and share with his fellow Angelinos the fun and benefits of bicycling. His dream is to make the Los Angeles County more bicycle friendly. He currently works as a consultant with the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC) and CicLAvia.
The Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC) is a nonprofit organization with over 1,000 members that engages cyclists through advocacy, education and outreach across the county. Founded in 1998 by bicycle advocates Joe Linton and Ron Milam, LACBC brings together the diverse bicycling community in a united mission to improve the bicycling environment and quality of life for the entire region.
CicLAvia was inspired by ciclovía, the weekly street closure event in Bogotá, Colombia, established over 30 years ago. CicLAvia consists of the temporary opening of Los Angeles streets to all Angelenos. Free to the public, it interconnects diverse portions of the city, creating a web of temporary public space, free of car traffic.
