Emily Bishton



Bishton is a landscape designer and environmental educator who specializes in educating clients and the public on earthfriendly gardening practices. Resource conservation, natural pest and disease control, composting, wildlifefriendly and childfriendly gardening, and other principals of sustainability are the hallmarks of her work. Over the past 15 years, Bishton has designed public and private gardens throughout the Seattle area, and created numerous children's outdoor education programs. Bishton's garden writing has been featured in local and national magazines and websites, and she is a regular speaker for Seattle Public Utilities, the Green Gardening Program, Saving Water Partnership, and other community organizations. Bishton is a Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH) with a degree in Landscape Design, and a longtime Seattle Master Composter and King County Master Gardener.
