The Lone Lantern Society is a seasoned group of community activists dedicated to, among other issues, demanding answers about the contradictions in the official story of the events of September 11th. The Lone Lantern Society works with 911truth.org, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, and many other groups in order to spread awareness for the need for a new, independent investigation into the events of 9/11 in order to answer the family members' questions, of which over 70% were not answered or even addressed. September 11th not only was the direct cause for thousands of deaths, it was the catalyst for 2 wars. The Lone Lantern Society’s community outreach at the Green Festival will shed light on some of the glaring omissions and distortions in the 9/11 Commission Report and the government’s official story.

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) was formed in 2005 to approach planning in northeastern Illinois comprehensively and collaboratively. It was formed by combining two previous agencies, the Chicago Area Transportation Study (CATS) and the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC). The new agency and its partners are removing barriers to cooperation across geographical boundaries, and across subject areas like land use, transportation, natural resources, and economic development. By understanding how these issues — and our communities’ futures — are inter-related, CMAP wants to change the way planning is conducted in northeastern Illinois.
CMAP is now developing the region's first truly comprehensive plan for land use and transportation, the GO TO 2040 plan. GO TO 2040 will create and implement a long-range vision for metropolitan Chicago through the year 2040 and beyond. This region includes Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will Counties, with a combined population of over 8 million people at present, with a projected additional 2 million residents and 1.2 million jobs by 2030.
By state and federal law, CMAP is required to produce an integrated plan for land use and transportation by 2010. But the agency's planning process goes far beyond state and federal requirements. By addressing more than just land use and transportation -- and by involving many planning partner agencies throughout the process -- we intend to create a relevant plan that guides investments and development to 2040 and beyond.
