In mid-coast Maine, Medomak’s Retreat Center is a welcoming place for small and mid-size groups. The facility, nestled in a cool pine forest, is open in June, July and August.
This simple yet refined retreat center has meeting spaces that reflect our core values; conscious living, a sense of community and a healthy respect for the environment. Medomak Retreat Center can sleep up to groups of approximately 70 guests. Cabins are appointed with comfortable beds, writing area with desk and reading light, and outside each cabin, Adirondack chairs for relaxation. We offer two types of rustic cabins: dorm style and private.
Located at a separate site on our campus is our family camp. Our summer camp for the entire family offers a multitude of activities for the young and the young at heart. Our staff is trained and certified to make your camp week fun as well as educational. Activities are carefully planned throughout the week and led by our staff.
In the morning structured activities provide campers (pre-school through adult) the opportunity to interact with others their own age. After lunch families spend time together lakeside, or further explore their interests in archery, photography, and arts and crafts. A naturalist is on staff to oversee hikes and lead activities in the field and in our nature center.
At the Retreat Center as well as Family Camp chef prepared meals are served family style, prepared fresh with vegetables and herbs from our organic gardens. Vegetarian options are always available as an alternative to our regular meals. Ask about our lobster dinners complete with corn on the cob, coleslaw, and our own signature recipe for mussels. Coffee, tea and fresh fruit is always available in both dining halls.
