Syracuse Cultural Workers

Syracuse Cultural Workers
Progressive Peace and Justice publisher, catalog and web company. We also wholesale to over 700 retailers, co-ops and organizations for fundraising. Our "Tools for Change" products inform and inspire through art supporting activism. SCW's products focus on peace, justice, diversity and the environment. The internationally acclaimed Peace Calendar in its 38th year, the Women Artists Datebook, posters, holiday cards and postcards. Thought provoking T-shirts, stickers and buttons, flags including the Earth Flag. Bookmarks and books to engage and enlighten. Since our 1982 founding SCW has been committed to "deep green" both in our practices and products. Our paper products are printed by union labor on 100% postconsumer waste stock, chlorine and dioxin free. Our T-shirts are sweatshop free, organic cotton with some now silky soft due to earth-friendly water-based inks. We see cultural work as an essential part of and support for political and economic change. Many of our materials celebrate movements for social change and their leaders, thus helping to legitimize history that is largely ignored or trivialized by commercial media and school textbooks. SCW also helps to unite socially concerned artists with a growing audience hungry for meaningful artwork. We are very honored to have just published in poster form the United Nations Declaration On The Rights of Indigenous Peoples which was passed by the UN General Assembly on September 13, 2007. The poster is two-sided, Spanish and English.
