Is it any surprise that the most wonderful region to live in has the country's greatest concentration of cohousing neighborhoods? We're everywhere from the heart of downtown Oakland (12 minutes from downtown San Francisco) to 49ers country Nevada City to the subtle hidden shores of Arcata. We're up and down the Central Valley, scattered around Wine Country, and stretching down the Central Coast, featuring the first U.S. new build and the first organically-created community, the most urban, the first senior cohousing neighborhood, and the most innovative in affordability.

Northern California Cohousing neighborhoods and professionals are planning some exciting events this Fall: site visits, bus tours, walking tour, and a carpool tour, open houses, orientations, booths at festivals, and more. This site is the place to learn about all these.

Our accomplishments in the past year include talks and a Sustainable Community booth at the Green Festival and DIgital Be-In in San Francisco, and SolFest in Hopland and the Sustainable Enterprise Conference in the North Bay, a Finding Community Fair with an EcoVillage slide show, an all-day Communities Convergence featuring talks on simple living, group process, and community, and a workshop on Starting and Finding Intentional Communities, EcoVillages, and Cohousing. Late last year we hosted a live group viewing of a Coho/US Webinar featuring Katie McCamant of Cohousing Partners talking about Financing Cohousing.

Join us in an existing community or creating a new one where you know your neighbors but have privacy, your own kitchen but meals together a few times a week, a condo where the common house provides connections and you are part of the team that makes it happen. Join us in our quiet revolution, planting the seeds of Ecovillages, building a better society, one neighborhood at a time.
