Mariposa Naturescapes assists homeowners, businesses, and local governments in restoring their landscapes with Pacific NW Native Plants. Native plants help minimize water use & maintenance, improve wildlife habitat, and increase natural ecosystem functioning.

Currently, our main services, as a Washington State Specialty Contractor, are Seattle-area native plant landscape design and installation. In addition, we offer mostly Western Washington native plants for sale, by appointment, at our small affordably-priced retail nursery in SE Seattle.

Why Native Plants?

Native plants are beautiful and provide year-round interest and diversity in foliage, flowers, fruit, and fragrance.
Native plants are naturally adapted to our local climate, which allows them to fend off pests and diseases; use less water; need less maintenance; and offer beneficial habitat to native birds, butterflies, & other wildlife.
A well-designed native plant landscape can increase property value and function by insulating your home/business from harsh weather; reducing urban noise, storm water runoff, and invasive plants; and filtering the air.
Native plants provide a place-based, natural setting — right outside our door— inspiring better understanding, appreciation, and protection of our local flora & fauna for an ecologically sustainable future for all beings.
