Wal-Mart Watch Executive Director David Nassar works in coordination with unionized labor to lead a campaign against the expansion of big-box stores into small communities. He has experience in both domestic and international campaigns as a campaign manager in Pennsylvania and working for the National Democratic Insititue for International Affairs to strengthen democracy in the Middle East. From product sourcing and labor policies to environmental issues and health care, panelists will address the issues many communities face when weighing the benefits and liabilities of a Wal-Mart in their neighborhood. These astute individuals will examine the company from several perspectives and explain how communities are responding. They will also look at Wal-Mart’s new jobs and inner-city initiatives.
