knowlege is power. Join Global Exchange to learn more about these
issues and how you can making a difference. Fair Trade cocoa provides a
just, sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative for your

Sample olive oil from the land where olive oil first began.
Representatives of Canaan Fair Trade discuss how Fair Trade is granting
access to U.S. and European markets for Palestinian communities that
have been farming in “the land of milk and honey" for thousands of
years.
4pm Eco-Certified Fair Trade Sports
Nick Savaidis will offer up ways to kick sweatshops off the
playing field with eco-certified Fair Trade sports balls and uniforms.
5pm Worker-Owned Chocolate!
What if African cocoa farmers owned their own chocolate company? Divine
Chocolate is the world’s first farmer-owned Fair Trade chocolate brand,
owned in part by the members of Kuapa Kokoo Farmers’ Cooperative in
Ghana. Come learn about this unique business and how it has forever
changed the lives of the Ghanaian cocoa farmers who proudly own Divine.

Explore the growing market of Fair Trade teas with Shashank Goel of INEEKA Teas. Trace the origins of your tea leaves as Goel explains the Fair Trade farmer/buyer relationship. INEEKA sources teas directly from 15,000 acres of organic, biodynamic Fair Trade farms in the Himalayas.
1pm Appropriate Technology: Clean Water and Fair Trade
Most of us take for granted the clean water that runs from our kitchen, while a sixth of the world’s population, including many coffee growers, do not have access to potable water. In recognitionof this daily struggle for survival, the Higher Grounds Trading Co. has collaborated in the creation of the Chiapas Water Project to provide financial resources to combat the global water crisis while supporting the struggle for indigenous autonomy and human rights.
2pm Let’s Make Chicago a Fair Trade City
U.S. cities are using Europe’s Fair Trade Towns model to help spread the word about Fair Trade. Hear how Chicago Fair Trade is working with the City of Chicago Department of Environment to achieve the Five Goals for Chicago to become a Fair Trade City and how you can help.

Sarah Belfort of the Domestic Fair Trade Association will lead a discussion on how to apply the principles of Fair Trade to the domesticmarketplace and help to empower family farmers in our country.

Join students nationwide to discuss ways to promote a fair alternatives on campuses and in communities. Rory Phillips of United Students for Fair Trade will share stories and ideas on ways to bring Fair Trade to your school.
