Visit the Global Exchange chocolate postcard-coloring table to
color and sign postcards asking chocolate makers to go Fair Trade.

Learn how to share nature with your children in a song and story hour with lots of activities to get kids outside. Enjoy the awe and wonder that the natural world has to offer!

What could make chocolate even sweeter? Making it Fair Trade! Volunteers will present Global Exchange’s Fair Trade Chocolate curriculum. Through hands-on activities, games and an interactive lesson, children will learn where and how cacao beans are grown and harvested.

Learn about wildlife conservation through hands-on activities based on Project WILD and Project WET. Curricula presented by the District Department of the Environment.
Peace Dove and All Species Puppet Parade

Members of the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots program will “fly” giant peace doves. Each year, people around the world fly these doves to mark the Roots & Shoots Day of Peace, which Dr. Goodall established in support of United Nations’ peace endeavors. The parade will start in the Green Kids’ Zone and end on the Dining Area Stage.
Playing With Food

Join the FoodPrints gang for fun hands-on activities, games and exploration. You’ll learn how our food makes its way from farm to plate. FoodPrints is a collaborative of FRESHFARM Markets, American Institute of Wine & Food, Washington Youth Garden, UDC Ag in the Classroom and Warner Hanson Television. Also, join us to taste local foods and herbs, meet a local farmer, plant seeds, observe culinary demos and more.
