Author of Slow Is Beautiful: New Visions of Community, Leisure and Joie de Vivre (New Society Publishers), Andrews has a leadership role in the national volunteary simplicity movement.
Cecile Andrews is a community educator who has spoken and written
widely about simplicity and the slow life movement. A former affiliated
scholar with Seattle University and visiting scholar at Stanford, she
founded the Phinney Ecovillage project in her north Seattle
neighborhood and works with community groups on sustainability, global
warming and justice issues. She also is author of "The Circle of
Simplicity: Return to the Good Life" and a contributor to "Take Back
Your Time: Fighting Overwork and Time Poverty in America."Panel: Visioning Our Communities: An Interactive Forum Community can be the secret ingredient in sustainability. Shared resources and cooperative neighbors help us reduce our global environmental impact while magnifying our political impact. This interactive session will give you the opportunity to participate in a small-group visioning exercise to provide the experience of community decision-making.
