Production has started on the 2012 Focus Electric at their world-class Michigan Assembly Plant. The Focus Electric is the first five-passenger battery electric vehicle to achieve a fuel efficiency rating of 110 MPGe city. C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid will join Ford's electrified vehicle lineup in the second half of 2012. One-third of the Ford lineup will feature a model with 40 mpg or more by the end of 2012. Ford's electrification plan will triple production capacity of electrified vehicles by 2013, truly giving fuel-efficiency-minded customers the Power of Choice!
- Approximately 85% of the materials used in Ford vehicles by weight are recyclable.
- The standard cloth seats on the 2012 Ford Focus Electric feature a fabric made with REPREVE® –fibers produced from 100% recycled materials.
- Ford Hybrid vehicles utilize a high-voltage Nickel-Metal-Hydride battery that delivers up to 50% better fuel economy than their non-hybrid counterparts.
- Focus Electric is the first all-electric vehicle to offer faster charging technology, allowing it to charge in half the time of a Nissan Leaf using 240-volt outlets.
- C-MAX Hybrid is projected to achieve better fuel economy than Toyota Prius v and C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid is projected to achieve better miles per gallon equivalent in electric mode than Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid.
