Dr. Corinna Basler
As President, Dr. Basler brings over ten years of experience in international corporate business strategy, marketing, branding, communications and corporate social responsibility. She also serves as Vice President of the parent company, Messe Stuttgart, Inc. Corinna’s commitment to sustainability is both professional and personal, as she has been vegetarian for over twenty years. If time allows, she is also a passionate long distance runner.
Suzanne Hageman - National Sponsor Relations Director

Suzanne joined Green Festival in December of 2011. She volunteers in the Asheville community for the Mission Children’s Hospital and Genesis Alliance for Women, and she loves to hike, garden and play with her two standard poodles.

Karen joined Green Festival in 2011 and brings 20 years of sales, marketing and hospitality experience managing the Exhibit and Sponsorship sales team. She enjoys making culinary masterpieces, photography, tending to her garden, tinkering with her 65 gallon planted fish tank, in-depth conversations with her 3 cats and long walks with her German Shepherd.

Kristen holds a BFA In Fine Arts and comes from 11 years of professional sales and tradeshow experience. She is a New Englander turned Southerner and is prone to singing, dancing, attending concerts, eating gluten-free, health and sustainability, traveling, nature-loving, creative activities, philosophy and any adventures that come her way!

Michelle brings over fourteen years of event experience to Green Festival. As a strong supporter of local businesses, Michelle can be found, along with her husband Chris and their Border Collie Wrigley (yes we are Cubs Fans!), at local farmers markets, at restaurants and enjoying the great outdoors.

Amelia-Betts, proud mother of two adorable kittens, serves as Green Festival’s Chief Morale Officer and resident Art Historian. After graduating from Sewanee University in 2010, she decided to return to the beguiling mountains of Asheville, having spent her childhood summers romping around the North Carolina wilderness. Her hobbies include kitten-kissin', chocolate consumption and quoting Tombstone.

Olivia is a business graduate from Appalachian State University who fell in love with the mountains of Western North Carolina and never left. When she’s not in the office, she spends her time hiking with her hound, Oliver, playing USTA tennis, listening to live music, playing harmonica and learning about alternative health and nutrition.

Greg Roberts - Sponsorship Representative
Roberts co-founded Green Festival with Global Exchange and Green America, and he was the Event Producer from 2002-2013. At Green Festival, he created and sold $10M in Green Festival Sponsorship and developed a highly successful Media Partner program, unparalleled in its scope in the sustainability realm. Additionally, he has worked with the United Nations World Environment Day, Mother Earth News Fair, SolFest, Sundance, and was the Producer and CEO of the genre-defining Whole Life Expo from 1993- 2001.

I have been very lucky to have built my career through a wide range of amazing industries that are passionate to me, from Symphony Orchestras to Academia; but, none are as passionate to me as the mission of Green Festival.
Rob Trontz - Creative Director
Robert is a creative designer, developer and master of all things Adobe. His critical eye, along with his talents in multiple disciplines, allows him to create, develop and perfect projects on paper and in the digital space. He also enjoys cycling, running and hiking with his wife and German Shepherd.

Tad Frank has been with Green Festivals, Inc. for the past 3 years. He utilizes his skills from being a Television Producer for the past 20 years in every aspect of producing a successful and sustainable show for Green Festivals, Inc.

Sean brings over two decades of website building experience to Green Festival. During work hours, he basks before the warm, loving glow of his computer monitor, reveling in supernumerary lines of code and compelling web analytics. In off hours, he can be found loudly deejaying at various music events and festivals around Asheville, as well om-nomming all the fine vegan food that the little mountain city has to offer.

Jensen Gelfond of Asheville Digital Lifestyle provides technology setup, support and training at the Green Festivals home office in Asheville. When away from the computer, Jensen loves getting outdoors to hike, backpack, and play soccer.

Bryan Ting - National Director of Volunteers

Bryan has been working with the Green Festival since 2009 and became the National Director of Volunteers in 2011. He is currently augmenting his years of Event Planning expertise at the University of California Berkeley in Project Management. He enjoys long distance running, rock climbing and adding stamps to his passport.

Amy has been passionately engaged with essential oils and natural beauty for over 12 years. She is the owner of Buddha Nose, an award winning yoga-inspired brand of mind-body-beauty products and Executive Director of the New York Institute of Aromatherapy. She has been a strong and visible advocate for safe, toxic-free beauty and body care products for over 14 years. Danielle is passionate about inspiring people to live lives that are healthy for themselves and for the planet. This passion is intricately woven into her life and shown in ways big and small, including participating in her neighborhood compost pilot program, supporting local farmers and producers, and flawlessly executing innovative marketing and public relations campaigns.

Kira, who spent her first career in hospitality and human resources, is taking her plethora of talents on the road. After great volunteering experiences at previous Green Festivals, she was delighted to join the DC Regional Team. She is enjoys gardening and is known for her resourcefulness.

Sabrina is a cooperative student from the parent company Mess Stuttgart in Germany. She is joining Green Festival for an internship during May and June. In her free time she loves walking with her dog, joining sport events and horseback riding through the forests.

I moved to Asheville in March 2013 from Alpharetta, GA mainly to explore and go hiking. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelors Degree. I Majored in Organizational Communications and minored in Sociology. I love the outdoors and have had fun exploring the mountains this past year.

For nearly 30 years, Alisa Gravitz has led Green America, the national green economy organization. Ms. Gravitz is a leading expert on how families and businesses can “go green,” saving money and resources. She is also a nationally recognized leader in the social investment industry. She authored Green America’s acclaimed Guide to Social Investing, with over a million copies in print and the popular Guide to Community Investing.
Denise Hamler - Director, Green Business Network at Green America

Denise Hamler is the director and co-founder of the Green Business Network at Green America. She has held senior marketing and publications positions and launched social media programs such as Green Deals, the successful green GROUP.ON. She serves as the publisher for Green America’s publications: The National Green Pages and Green American magazine.
Kevin Danaher - Co-Founder, Global Exchange

Dr. Kevin Danaher is the Executive Director of Friends of SF Environment, the non-profit arm of the San Francisco Department of Environment. He is a co-founder of Global Exchange (1988) and co-founder of FairTradeUSA (1997). His 1985 PhD in sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz was based on his dissertation, “The Political Economy of U.S. Policy Toward South Africa.”
Carleen Pickard - Executive Director, Global Exchange

Carleen Pickard is the Managing Director of Global Exchange. She holds a MA in Anthropology and Development from the University of Sussex, UK, and has worked in social justice organizations in London, UK, Chiapas, Mexico, San Francisco, CA, Vancouver, BC and Ottawa, ON prior to returning to San Francisco (again) in 2010. She refers to documentaries constantly and will watch one with you, anytime.
Kirsten Moller - Director of Organizing, Global Exchange

As Director of Organizing at Global Exchange, Kirsten works with campaigners to engage members across the country. She is most inspired by the direct actions of ordinary folks who come to believe, to know, that they can make a difference when they connect directly with their neighbors in their own communities and around the world. She believes whole-heartedly that we all can resist injustice, envision alternatives and take action together.
