Jamie Henn

Jamie Henn is the Communications and East Asia Director for the international climate campaign 350.org. In 2009, Jamie coordinated media for over 5,200 simultaneous events in more than 180 countries, landing 350.org on front pages and newscasts around the world and making the campaign the day's top story on Google News (while coordinating nearly 500 events across East Asia, including over 300 rallies across China and Cambodia's first climate event at Angkor Wat). At the Copenhagen climate talks, Jamie provided media support for some of the world's most vulnerable countries, running communications for events with climate leaders like President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives. Before cofounding 350.org with environmental writer Bill McKibben and a group of six college friends, Jamie helped lead the Step It Up 2007 campaign and a variety of efforts with the Energy Action Coalition. He is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont and the coauthor of the book Fight Global Warming Now.

350.org is an international climate campaign named after the safe upper limit of carbon in our atmosphere: 350 parts per million. On October 24, 2009, 350.org organized over 5,200 climate rallies in more than 180 countries, what CNN called the most widespread day of political action in history. 350.org started with a team of seven college friends and grew into an international movement using online tools to drive real world action. In 2010, the campaign will continue to work for the climate solutions science and justice demand.
