Hop Hopkins is Program Manager for the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, providing at-risk young adults and youth opportunities for success through job skills training, education and work experience with an emphasis on conservation and service projects that benefit the community. Hop received his BA in Humanities from New College of California’s North Bay Campus as a graduate in the Culture Ecology & Sustainable Communities program. His focus included natural building, sustainable design and analyzing race and class in the Intentional Communities movement. Guided by a belief that life is not a competitive struggle, Hop seeks change by working peaceably toward the change he wishes to create. Hop envisions creating a network of residential food forests in order to support the development of stable, human-scale solar self-reliant neighborhood communities integrated with cooperative local economies.
