A scholar of corporate social responsibility, global citizenship and everyday activism, Dr. Ellis Jones (www.betterworldshopper.org) has been giving presentations across the country on how to turn lofty ideals into practical, effective actions. His books include the bestselling Better World Handbook (winner of Spirituality ; Health's Best Book of the Year Award for 2001 under the category of Hope) and the newly released Better World Shopping Guide (the only comprehensive guide for socially and environmentally responsible consumers available).

He was featured in the documentary film, 50 Ways To Save The Planet, and in 2005, his work inspired the creation of The Better World Handbook Festival in Vancouver, BC. He currently teaches in the department of sociology at University of California, Davis.
