Welcome to the Green Festival Blog!

We are excited to invite you to take an insider look at behind-the-scenes action in each city with our new Green Festival Blog. This blog will serve as a platform for conversation about green and socially responsible topics from coast to coast.

Green Festival is the nation's largest sustainability event; and we are always working to improve the festival you know and love. This year’s theme is ‘Engagement,’ with exciting new ways to shop green, be inspired, get engaged and give back. You will enjoy informative, insightful speakers, incomparable green shopping, cutting edge eco-innovations, great live music, fun and educational family activities, hands-on workshops, organic wine and beer and delicious, local vegetarian cuisine. Plus, our new admission options are geared to encourage you to get engaged in your community with immediate dividends from Green Festival.

Ten stages and pavilions give you and your friends the opportunity to engage with 125 local experts and nationally-renowned authors, actors, leaders, educators, farmers and visionaries. Exciting keynote speakers include Ralph Nader, Amy Goodman, Gilberto Gil, Patti Moreno, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, Jr., Dean Baker, Bernardine Dorhn, Bill Ayers, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin, Daniel Pinchbeck, Goumbri, Tracy McQuirter and many more.

Green Festival's mission is to inspire and inform as many people as possible to help make our world more just and sustainable. Our new admission options in Washington D.C. and San Francisco invite you to invest in your local community while receiving immediate dividends from Green Festival. “Pay It Forward and Get it Back at Green Festival” invites you to volunteer with or donate to local nonprofit organizations to receive complimentary admission to Green Festival. Also new this year, when you purchase any ticket to Green Festival, you receive "Green Bucks," which can be used as currency at Green Festival in the green marketplace.

We look forward to seeing you this fall in Washington D.C., October 23-24 and San Francisco, November 6-7. Plus, we are already planning an amazing year to celebrate our 10th anniversary in 2011!
