E. Gluck Corporation Produces Sprout, A Line of High-Quality, Affordable Eco-Forward Watches

Sprout will exhibit at San Francisco Green Festival Nov. 10-11 (Booth 529) and Los Angeles Green Festival Nov.17-18 ( Booth 645)

SAN FRANCISCO/LOS ANGELES October 24, 2012 Sprout, the brainchild of the creative masterminds at E. Gluck Corporation, a company that, after more than 50 years producing best-selling timepieces, set out to create a line of high-quality, affordable eco-forward watches. With a passion for the traditional art of watch-making, we threw convention aside and looked for the most sustainable materials we could find. From corn resin, conflict-free diamonds, bamboo and cork in our watches to recycled content in our packaging, we focused on materials that are both easy on the planet and naturally beautiful.

Creating something meaningful that we’re passionate about has been our biggest priority, closely followed by contributing and participating in organizations close to our hearts that better the planet and allow us to better ourselves. We are an active member of 1% for the Planet, with one percent of our yearly sales going to environmental organizations, including Surfrider, an organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Riverkeeper, New York’s clean water advocate, and Trees for the Future are two additional organizations we strive to educate the public about, contribute to and feel passionate about.

We love participating in various events and fundraisers benefitting sustainable causes and charities each year, as well as showcase our products in events and shows that make a difference.  Not only do we love seeing people excited when they receive a new watch – we love their reaction when they realize their newest and coolest accessory is actually made with such unique ingredients and now they’re doing good for the planet, too.

We feel our biggest contribution to the green movement lies in our mission and the philosophy behind what we want to be as a company – simply put, we set out to make the most eco-forward watches available. Combined with our long-standing passion for the traditional art of watch-making and eye for design with an entrepreneurial, freethinking spirit – we strive to be truthful, transparent and to the point. We’ll never be anything less.

“For the past ten years, the Green Festival has been an annual or bi-annual event in San Francisco.  The Green Festival has also taken place elsewhere across the country, with Chicago, Seattle, and Washington D.C. to name a few locations.  Now, for the first time in its decade of existence, the Green Festival is coming to Los Angeles.

The Green Festival will be in Los Angeles from October 29-30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“This unique experience celebrates positive solutions working in our communities.  It’s where people come to meet renowned authors, actors, visionaries and community leaders; shop with hundreds of green businesses; participate in DIY workshops; enjoy live music and local vegan and vegetarian cuisine; and join friends at the organic beer and wine garden.”’

Green Festival 2011-An Eco-Extravaganza

“It was great to see Chicago go green post St. Patrick’s Day, with the annual Green Festival.

Du-Jay again enjoyed people power bike ride with Working Bikes. It’s fun to see the pedaling create enough energy to make a little bike go around the world, spout water from a mermaid rain barrel or play a record!   We also saw our old favorites, Coco Loco, who will also be at Summer Camp Music Festival again.   I wear 2 pairs of their earrings pretty much 24/7 and Sagezilla also has a spiral pair she often wears when not actively doing gymnastics.    We also saw the booth that makes old banners into super cool wallets and bags, like my favorite one that resembles the Chicago flag….and a certain blog header.”

Green Festival 2011 Offers Organics, Innovations, and much, much more

The 2011 Green Festival took place this past weekend at the Qwest Field Events Center in Seattle, bringing with it a host of innovations and green products, as well as some truly energizing and eye-opening speakers. If you missed the event, don’t worry – there are more Green Festivals to come later this year, including stops in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, so be sure to check their website for future dates and tickets.

The Seattle festival was as energetic and illuminating as fans of the annual event have come to expect, with attractions ranging from local gardening advice to national environmental campaigns – via the samples at the organic chocolate tables, naturally. The two-day festival also offered a small beer and wine garden for the responsible adults, while the food options included a host of vegetarian delights, including felafel, burritos, and meat-free sausages.
