San José, Costa Rica – March 01, 2012 Pacuare River, Costa Rica:  Sixty Internet Delegates from every region of the world will gather on the banks of the Pacuare River with expert river guides from Rios Tropicales to learn about the lungs of the planet deep in the heart of the rainforest. “Responsible travel, sustainable development, ecotourism, geo tourism, they’re all about people travelling and doing something about our beautiful planet,” said Fernando Esquivel co-founder of Rios Tropicales. The Internet’s policy makers and stakeholders will explore the Costa Rican interior and its ecosystem on a river rafting expedition, and take action with the globally recognized NGO, Fundacion Rios Tropicales, to plant more than 100 trees and create new roots for the benefit of People and Planet.

By next year, hundreds of new generic Top Level Domains, gTLDs (the letters to the right of the dot in an Internet address) will also “take root” in the Internet by the authority of The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The new .green TLD will identify names and web addresses associated with sustainability. “The necessary shift to greener lifestyles and greener business practices has begun. The .green TLD domain namespace on the Internet is a next step to making that happen globally in mankind’s race to reach sustainability with the planet,” explained Annalisa Roger, CEO of The DotGreen Community, Inc. The DotGreen organization has submitted an application to ICANN and plans to manage the .green TLD to benefit the world’s green movement. ICANN is the global multi-stakeholder governing body responsible for the Internet’s upcoming and greatest change since its inception. More than 1700 Internet stake-holders, government delegates, business executives, engineers, civil societies, and individuals from around the world will gather in San Jose, Costa Rica for the week-long ICANN meetings this month to discuss a multitude of governing policies over the technical functions of the Internet.

The new .green TLD: Initiated in 2007 by the DotGreen Foundation, a non-profit for Public Benefit Charity Organization. ICANN’s delegation of the .green TLD for management to The DotGreen Community, Inc. will bring forth an online green name space. The .green domain names and websites will be available in 2013 as an additional “tool“ for people and businesses to discover and make greener choices. Registrants of .green domain names will be supporting The DotGreen Foundation, spreading awareness, boosting the green movement, and growing the green economy online. A .green Internet will be a helpful piece in the larger puzzle for mankind to collectively meet our greatest challenge: the timely shift on a global scale to greener lifestyle and business practices to achieve sustainability for life on Earth. http://www.dotgreen.org http://www.facebook.com/dotgreencommunity

The Takeout Store provides biodegradable, compostable disposable tableware

San Jose, CA – February 22, 2011 At The Takeout Store,  disposable tableware products made from Bagasse and Corn Starch are leading the way in replacing wasteful Styrofoam and Plastic disposable tableware to reduce waste on America’s growing landfills.

Bagasse is a byproduct of the sugarcane refining process. It is what is left over after the sugarcane stalks are crushed to extract the juices. Since bagasse comes from the earth it is easily converted by nature into simple, stable compounds that are absorbed back into the ecosystem. One of the many attractive qualities of bagasse is that it is both biodegradable and compostable. Future generations will not be burdened by excessive waste from takeout materials that take thousands of years to break down.

Biodegradable means that the product will break down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass in a short amount of time. When something is “compostable”, it means that it is made of organic matter that will break down in a compost system or land fill.
Bagasse biodegradable food containers are quickly being recognized as a great eco-friendly alternative to traditional Styrofoam clamshells and plastic plates.

Eco-Forward Convenience

The Takeout Store is proud to be a green promoter in providing biodegradable options and convenience to the local and national community.  Supporting and sponsoring local charity events with biodegradable disposable tableware is a vital element of dedication towards keeping the community green.

“Our mission is to reduce environmental waste and promote sustainability while providing the highest quality biodegradable products available.”  says company owner, Eddy Yee. “Striving to become a zero waste society is an important goal, and biodegradable disposable tableware products play an essential role.”
