Planktos CEO and chief scientist Russ George is a sailor, filmmaker and hands-on ecologist, who has organized and managed large environmental restoration projects for the Canadian and British Columbian governments. Russ has also manned the helm of the Rainbow Warrior on an early US voyage from Canada. His first ocean research trial for Planktos was conducted off the stern of the Ragland , Neil Young's 1913 Baltic schooner, and was covered by the British journal Nature and the BBC. In recent months he has given invited briefings on "Ecorestoration, Climate Change and Plankton Power" to the Vatican, the World Bank, Britain's "Chief Scientist" Sir David King, various EU governments and agencies, the international Electric Utilities Environmental Conference, and the US Naval Research Laboratory.
