Catherine Stevens, as a young child, had a deep connection to the earth and also loved to create art. As a young woman she studied chemistry and biological sciences (receiving a Master's and Ph.D. with a major emphasis in photosynthesis) at the University of Texas at Austin. Twelve hours after delivering her dissertation to her committee, she delivered her first child, which changed her path. She became a stayathome mom with 3 children, working in many volunteer positions throughout her children's schooling that often focused on sustainability issues or environmental activism. She also became an artist who used her art to reflect her love and reverence for the natural world. In 1987, she made friends with some Native Americans that reaffirmed her intuition that our world was following an imbalanced/unwise path.
As Catherine moved further onto a spiritual path, she felt a resonance for shamanism, as well as other spiritual practices that have been described as New Age. She is a Reiki Master. As a selfdescribed adult play therapist, shaman, and teacher, she has intuitively begun using games to bring healing for people as they reconnect to the sacred in Mother Earth. She owns her own business, Catherine L. Stevens' Studio, in Denver, CO. She creates relief prints, mosaics, other art media, and teaches. Catherine has illustrated a children's book, Margaret's Surprise, by Ronda Miller.
Rebecca Stevens is a Bay Area native. She earned her culinary degree at the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City. She loves riding her bike, shopping the farmers market, simple seasonal food and time with her family. She lives and cooks in Oakland.
Tambra Stevenson founded the D.C. Food Justice Coalition, which helped pass the D.C. Healthy Schools Act. She also chairs the Food and Environment Committee for the Metro Washington Public Health Association.

stic.man, a noted music producer, book publisher, community activist, entrepreneur, actor, film director, practicing vegan and Afrikan martial artist, father and husband, and onehalf of the politically conscious, internationallyacclaimed rap duo dead prez, has remained a staple in the entertainment business for nearly a decade. Breaking barriers and receiving countless accolades from the music industrys most respected after releasing the debut dead prez album, Lets Get Free (Loud RCA), stic and his partner M1 were honored for Lyrics of the Year and nominated Best New Rap Duo of 2000 by The Source Magazine and shortly afterwards became the first rap group from the US to ever play South Africa selling out shows that featured
the performance of their incredibly infectious hardpulsating rap anthem Hip Hop. The songs popularity spawned a documentary and a movement entitled Bigger Than Hip Hop (Starz Cable Network) produced in association with legendary director Melvin Van Peebles, and was featured as the longtime opening theme song for the politically relevant, yet hysterical Comedy Central program The Dave Chappelle Show starring comedian Dave Chappelle.
After years of successful movie and music projects/collaborations, national appearances and awards, stic continued to make strides in being a positive inspirational voice for todays generation. He assumed the role as the CEO of Boss Up Inc., a dead prez inspired music and entertainment company that offers information, music, and gear that reflects a sense of selfdetermination, creative consciousness, and entrepreneurship. Placing emphasis on maturity, personal achievement, family, selfexpression, health, and self consciousness, it was under Boss Up Inc. that stic released his second book, The Art of Emceeing , an instructional hiphop book providing tips to emcees on vocal health, writing, publishing, and producing that was not only featured as a BET Rap City Book of the Monthtwice, but was also incorporated into music and cultural curriculums in high schools, universities and community programs around the country. His first book, Warrior Names from Afrika came after the birth of his son Itwela while searching for
a meaningful babys name.
This year stics Boss Up Inc will publish three more books. Afrikan Martial Arts: Discovering the Warrior Within, The Vegan Soulfood Guide to the Galaxy (written by his wife Afya Ibomu), and lastly RBG Fit Club: A Revolutionary Beginners Guide to Fitness, Nutrition and Getting Goals Accomplished. Stic is also the founder and editorinchief of .Ammo Magazine, a monthly online subscription magazine that is charged with arming subscribers with access to a plethora of holistic street knowledge on revolutionary politics, health, selfdefense, martial arts, edutainment, spirituality, parenting, money, relationships, survival, business and more.
Reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X profoundly transformed stics perspective on himself and the world around him, and he continues to incorporate those reallife warrior aesthetics into his music and lifestyle. In his teens, as an active member of the International Peoples Democratic Uhuru Movement he worked on a grassroots level in the streets of Florida, Chicago, and New York, building community programs
and fighting for justice around local issues.
The very personal issues of drug addiction and trafficking were tackled in the mixtape, Cant Sell Dope Forever (Boss Up Inc.) a collaboration album with dead prez and the Outlawz, and in 2007 stic released his debut solo album Manhood (Boss up Inc.) that features cameo appearances by Khujo Goodie and Young noble of the Outlawz and stellar production by respected producers JWells, Sol Messiah, HiTek and and stics own signature production delivering a mature and refreshing vibe, vision and very relevant voice.
Stic is currently writing and producing for Nas upcoming album Nigger (Def Jam) and is also a featured actor in a short action drama The Black Panther Blood Ties (R.L. Scott). Stic, is also a reallife student of Afrikan Martial Arts (Egbe Ogun) and is the director and editor of the first ever Afrikan Martial Arts Documentary called The Way of the Black Fist, and is starring in the forthcoming Miramax martial arts flick Slum 13. This naturally led to changing how Arcadia Design Studio did business from supplier to client.

Nicole Styles currently works as MTA’s Community Outreach Coordinator. As the Community Outreach Coordinator, she manages the Street Team, which goes out into the city and educates the community about HIV/AIDS. There are three different facets of outreach: HIV 101, Community, and Street. HIV 101 gives a basic overview of the causes of HIV and how to prevent its transmission. Community Outreach consists of setting up tables and booths at various health fairs. Street Outreach consists of conducting risk assessments throughout the community and passing out condoms while encouraging people to come visit Metro TeenAIDS.
Before joining Metro TeenAIDS, Nicole’s passion for youth led her to work at the Perry School through AmeriCorps. While working there, she had the opportunity to meet with Adam Tenner, MTA’s director. She was then asked to interview for a position helping out with MTA’s youth development program.
Nicole is a native of Washington, D.C.
Why Metro TeenAIDS? Nicole believes that outreach is important because the community lacks a connection to resources, and as a result, they are often misinformed about HIV/AIDS and other issues pertaining to their health. She loves being in the community and having direct contact with the people that she is advocating for. She feels that in order to be a part of outreach it is important to be open-minded, humorous, youth appealing, non-judgmental, and compassionate. Though she admits that it can be tough dealing with youth because they often go from one extreme to another, it is her overall passion for youth that drives her to continue her work.
Though Nicole dropped out of high school her senior year, it has not stopped her from doing many great things. She was able to take a trip to South Africa, which allowed her to see HIV/AIDS from a global perspective and gain a cross-cultural experience. While there she conducted HIV 101’s and visited the Study of AIDS Institute. She also helped to start a garden in Peace Town, an area designated for people affected by HIV/AIDS. She marks first setting foot on the soil of South Africa as one of her favorite memories.
During her time at MTA, Nicole has gained a lot of knowledge pertaining to HIV/AIDS prevention and care. She credits MTA for giving her a sense of completion. Her goal for MTA is to continue adapting and keeping up with technology. In the future, she would like to become a global health practitioner
