Other stages and pavilions may be fun, but the kids know the real party is at the Green Kids Zone. Get them interested in the natural world with engaging and educational activities. The young at heart enjoy videos, crafts face painting and a parade.

Betty Biodiesel

The Green Kids' Zone is hosted by Betty Biodiesel, the attainable sustainable eco superhero. Beety Biodiesel will share her stories and environmental wisdom all weekend. She's a sunny character with tons of eco-smarts, so come hang out and say hello!

 

Face Painting with Jenuine

Is it a tree? Is it a butterfly? No, it’s Green Kids in disguise, with face painting from talented local artist, Jen Barker (a.k.a Jenuine)!

 

Trash Mash-Up

Trash Mash-Up is a collaborative community art project. Using disposable materials, collected before they enter the waste-stream, participants construct “maskostumes,” original pageant masks inspired by traditions from around the world!

 

Artterro Bookmark Making Project

Use some of Artterro’s natural materials to design a one-of-a-kind piece of art – a marvelous bookmark of your very own to aid in your reading adventures!

 

Seed Planting

Plant, decorate and take home your own Green Festival seedling

Monterey Bay Aquarium Life-Size Characters

Keep an eye out for a life-size Laysan albatross puppet on the festival floor. Made by Chris Green of Chris Green Kinetics, this inspirational art piece composed of all repurposed materials is brought to you by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Have a photo taken with our albatross and take a pledge to conserve the oceans.
