Chef Manuel Anaya is one of the three chefs at top-rated Los Angeles-based Mexican restaurant "Taqueria Los Anaya" in the Mid-City district.


Manuel's father owned a taqueria in Guadalajara, Jalisco where he was raised, and Manuel and his siblings helped his father's restaurant to become a great success. When Manuel came to the United States in 1988, he soon became a dishwasher at the Ivy Restaurant in Los Angeles to make ends meet. In the back of his mind, he knew all along that he wanted to pursue his dream of opening and running his own restaurant.


Manuel soon opened a few restaurants in Los Angeles, and in 2012 decided to partner with his brother's Gerardo Anaya, Juan C. Anaya, on what they hoped would be the best Taqueria in Los Angeles. Their dream has come true, as the Taqueria Los Anaya has became one of the top-rated Mexican restaurants in L.A.


Manuel and his brothers also do catering with both Caribbean and Mexican food, and have catered for such famous clients as Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry, Madonna, Kanye West, Sony Studios, and many others.
