Rabbi Herbert Bronstein



Senior Scholar/Rabbi Emeritus of North Shore Congregation Israel, where he served as Senior Rabbi for 25 years, combining his vocation with community service, scholarship, publishing in popular and scholarly journals, teaching in synagogues and universities, now teaches History of Religion at Lake Forest College. Honored as the editor of a modern classic of Jewish liturgy, thePassover Haggadah of Reform Judaism, and Distinguished Alumnus award inthe year 2000, from the University of Cincinnati.

He teaches a course in Religious and Ethical Perspectives on theEnvironment at Lake Forest College and has served on the SteeringCommittee of the Sierra Club Clean Air Project, as well as chairing theEnvironmental Initiatives Committee of the Chicago Board of Rabbis.
