Rachel Bruhnke

Rachel Bruhnke is a political organizer and environmental educator. She served 3 years as a volunteer in the United States Peace Corps, and has lived and studied throughout Latin America. She holds an MS in Environmental Resource Engineering and a BA in Political Science. Ms. Bruhnke's thesis looks at Cuba's society-focused efforts to create a sustainable energy path. She has lectured on US-Cuba environmental relations since 1999, and is featured in the film, "The Power of Community: How Cuba survived Peak Oil." Ms. Bruhnke is founder of Harbor Farms, a cooperative urban farm in the port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, Ca. She also teaches Spanish, farming and resource conservation to American teenagers.
