Gemma Bulos


Gemma Bulos is a multi award-winning social entrepreneur and musician. Currently she is the Director of the Global Women's Water Initiative, a program of Women's Earth Alliance in partnership with Crabgrass. GWWI is building a cadre of women trainers in East Africa versed in a holistic set of water, sanitation, and hygiene strategies. To date, Gemma's work has provided over 200,000 people with clean water in Asia and Africa.

For her body of work, she has received national and international awards from Echoing Green, Ernst Young, Schwab Foundation and the Stanford Social Entrepreneur Fellowship. Her water programs have also won the Tech Equality Award and Warriors of the UN Millennium Goals. She was recently recognized as one of the Most Influential Thought Leaders and Innovative Filipinas in both the US and the World as well as one of the Top 10 Water Solutions Trailblazers in the world by Reuters Alertnet.
