Jenna Burton is the founder of Red, Bike and Green, an organization that seeks to strengthen cycling culture among African Americans as a way to address health and economic issues within the Black community. Jenna is from the East Coast, and attended Howard University where she studied Anthropology. While living in Washington, DC, she worked with NARAL and Women for Women International. After completing her degree she did an internship in Guatemala doing reproductive and environmental health education. Jenna then relocated to the Bay Area, where she continued to work in community health as well as social justice organizing. She discovered cycling culture and it quickly became a lifestyle for her. Her passion for cycling and healthy living within Black communities led to the creation of Red, Bike and Green. Jenna lives in Oakland where she is currently working in public health research. She commutes to work on her bike.
