House Kombucha started in 2009 as an on the ground, community based start-up dedicated to bringing kombucha , which is an ancient tradition of fermenting tea into a living, probiotic beverage, to the people. Founder and operator, Rana Chang, began the business in her neighborhood downtown San Francisco by renting kitchen space in the basement of an old kebab restaurant and selling it at a farmer’s market stand in the Metreon. Within a year, Chang renovated a blighted warehouse across from her home on 6th St. into what is now House Kombucha’s own brew house. Now, House Kombucha is bottling and distributing its 100% all natural kombucha all over the Bay Area!
