Catherine Geanuracos leverages technology and media to create global movements that respond to the most urgent social and environmental issues of our time. Her firm, http://neweconomycampaigns.com/wordpressfiles/" target="_blank">New Economy Campaigns, provides digital strategy consulting for social value projects. New Economy is currently developing a climate-related youth engagement strategy for the Energy Foundation She developed the Power Rangers emPOWER children’s health and fitness program, and is currently building an arts engagement program for Paul Frank for Saban Brands. Catherine oversaw multiple components of Live Earth during three years as its General Manager, including program development, sustainability, interactive strategy, public relations, sponsorship management, and nonprofit and promotional partnerships. From 2004-2006, Catherine consulted for http://front.moveon.org/" target="_blank">MoveOn.org Political Action, helping to shape innovative programs that used technology to fundamentally expanded opportunities for political engagement. She co-created YrMomma4Obama, was the founding CTO of http://www.momsrising.org/" target="_blank">MomsRising.org and is a member of the advisory boards for Zimride/Carpool on Facebook, Social Media Week, the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, and CicLAvia. She serves as Technology and New Media Advisor to Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti. Catherine developed leadership in social advocacy while completing her B.A. at Columbia College in New York City and her Master’s Degree in social welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in Los Angeles.
