Green Festival Speakers
As an architect and urbanist, Jonathan Louie has been involved in complex building projects, research, and fanatical urban proposals for some of the foremost architectural and urban thinkers in practice today. He is a co-founder of Rethink LA, an urban think tank and creative communications collaboration focused on product-oriented tools for educating the general public about a future sustainable Los Angeles. As a designer, his experience includes playing strategic roles on conceptual design teams for major mixed-use projects in Los Angeles and around the world, including Mexico, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, China and Kazakhstan. Jonathan has been a guest lecturer for Syracuse University on ‘Architecture in the Dutch Landscape;’ recently curated a new A+D Museum exhibition ‘Rethink LA: Perspectives on a Future City;’and is a major catalyst behind the Moving Beyond Cars Parties that have challenged Angelenos to arrive with alternative transportation. His time spent in Florence, Rotterdam, New York, Hawaii and elsewhere allow him to bring a “real world” perspective to his projects and a multicultural viewpoint to Los Angeles.
