Terese Messman, founder and owner of Microfibers Unlimited for 14 years, is committed to offering products that are genuinely kind to Earth’s environment as well as taking a stand for sweatshop-free production, rare in the textile industry. Terese has a lifelong commitment to helping the environment – she was a founding member of a recycling club in high school started on the first Earth Day in the 70’s, and has volunteered for Citizens for Conservation in Barrington, Illinois as well as teaching nature study in schools and summer camps in the Midwest. She has a restored wetland prairie landscape in her backyard which borders a forest preserve lake in the Chicago area. She is also a co-founder of Character Counts in the Barrington Area and gives seminars on anti-bullying programs to park districts, camps and youth groups.
