Adam Ortiz is the mayor of Edmonston, a small working class town in Prince George's County, MD. Under his administration, crime has been cut in half, years of flooding have ended due to the construction of a sophisticated flood control system, and the east coast's Greenest Street is being built, an awardwinning project that will reduce storm water pollution in the Chesapeake Bay.Adam has been Edmonston's mayor since 2005. He also serves as deputy chief of staff for Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, overseeing communications and policy. He is the past president of the Maryland Mayor's Association, president of the Port Towns Community Development Corporation, and is a board member of the Anacostia Watershed Society.
