Scott Pomeroy is the environmental programs manager for the Downtown DC Business Improvement District, managing the Greening Downtown DC Initiative a comprehensive districtwide approach where the Downtown BID focuses on greening new and existing buildings, educating tenants on green best practices, improving public spaces, and enhancing transportation options for the areas bounded by the White House on the west, to the Union Station to the east and from Massachusetts Avenue to the north and Constitution Avenue on the South. He is also the board chair of Keep Washington DC Beautiful, the local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Prior to working at the Downtown BID, he headed up the revitalization efforts in the 14th ; U Street area as the executive director of the 14th ; U Main Street Initiative , where he spearheaded the creation of the Green Team safety and maintenance program that, since 2004, has provided firststep jobs for over 120 individuals, primarily exoffenders. Scott also currently serves on the boards of the Mid City Business Association, U Street Neighborhood Association, and Reaching Out to Others Together (ROOT).
