Krista Vardabash



Krista Vardabash is the former Executive Director of the International Reciprocal Trade Association (wwwIRTA.com) and is now the U.S. liaison for GETS Plus, LLC (www.getsplus.com), a leading system for community currencies. In her role as IRTA executive director for seven years, Krista championed the inclusion of complementary currency networks and organizations into IRTA membership and provided leadership developing IRTA's complementary currency, the UC (Universal Currency). Krista is committed to serving the purpose of GETS Plus by playing a pivotal role in the stewardship of a culture that supports sustainable, mutuallyowned, creditclearing networks. Krista has spoken at international barter conferences on the subject of ethics and standards; she has been interviewed and quoted in various media such as NPR, BBC, Entrepreneur, The Economist and The Wall Street Journal as well as numerous local publications. Krista also helped to found and manage Amigas Sin Fronteras, a community microlending program through her church that supported families and small businesses in TuxtlaGutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico.
