Millions of homeless pets find themselves living in shelters each year, waiting for someone to love them. Green Festival has teamed up with several animal shelters to help save lives by encouraging people to adopt, not shop, for pets.
New York City - Since 1904 the Humane Society of New York has been a presence in New York City, reaching out to animals in need when illness, injury or homelessness strikes. HSNY encourages the use of environmentally-friendly products to show our concern for the planet and for people and animal's well-being www.HumaneSocietyNY.org
Washington DC - Lucky Dog Animal Rescue joined the Green Festivals Saves Lives Campaign, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a volunteer run animal rescue that saves homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from certain euthanasia. King Street Cats is proud to be the only all-volunteer, cat-exclusive, no-kill rescue facility in Alexandria, Va. Their mission is to provide a safe haven until the cats in their care find their forever homes, and to educate and assist the community in regard to cat welfare.
Los Angeles - Wags and Walks is a 501C3 non-profit organization located in West Los Angeles dedicated to rescuing family-friendly dogs from shelters and finding them safe and suitable permanent homes through adoption, advocacy and education. Have A Heart Ranch is home to over 100 animals which were rescued from death row at high-kill shelters, factory farms and trucks heading to slaughter houses. Their rehabilitation continues as we help them become wonderful therapy animals for children with autism, at-risk youth, veterans suffering from PTSD and people who are battling life-threatening illnesses such as cancer.
San Francisco - The Milo Foundation is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill organization providing an alternative for homeless pets throughout Northern California.
