Celebrate the work of our young environmental and social justice leaders!
Join Destiny Arts Youth Performance Company for a musical performance on the Main Stage, Saturday at 3:45pm. Then, head to the Ben & Jerry's Community Action Pavilion at 4:30pm for an interactive workshop exploring social issues through movement, theater games and group building exercises. Come prepared to move your body, speak your truth and act from the heart.
For young environmentalists, head to the Green Kids' Zone Saturday at noon and sing a tune or two with Dr. Pete the Singing Scientist. Also, stick around for a fun musical reading of the great new children's book, Pachas Pajamas at 2 pm. While you're there, create a recycled 'maskostume' with collaborative local community art project, Trash Mash-Up! For more information on happenings, visit the Green Kids' Zone schedule.
Take part in an interactive youth presentation – “Does Nature have Rights?” - Saturday at 2:30 pm in Ben & Jerry's Community Action Pavilion with actor/activist Q’orianka Kilcher, Kylie Nicole-Nealis of Global Exchange, and Amazon Watch Executive Director Leila Salazar-Lopez. Also, be sure to check in at "Bringing Sustainability onto your Campus" Saturday at 5:30 pm, as student leaders from local schools and universities share their stories and tips about greening their learning environments, and promoting sustainability at school. On Sunday, you'll find the Banana Slug String Band swinging their way through the festival. Join in their fun educational performance at noon in the Green Kids' Zone and an encore on the Main Stage at 3:45 pm.
Last but definitely not least, plan to attend the closing ceremony Sunday at 5:00 pm on the Main Stage, hosted by the amazing Spiral Dance Chorus & Band, comprised of children, tenns and adults.
