Robert Zardeneta

Over the past 16 years, Robert Zardeneta has dedicated himself professionally to serving low income, underserved youths and their families throughout Los Angeles and its surrounding neighborhoods. Currently, Robert serves as the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Communities Advocating for Unity, Social Justice, and Action (LA CAUSA) Inc. Under his leadership, LA CAUSA has embarked on an extensive Green the East Side campaign, created a Green College and Career Center which works with the University of California Los Angeles' Center for Community College Partnerships to develop mentorship programs to support youth throughout their transfer experience, and more than doubled the organization’s capacity to service youth. LA CAUSA’s YouthBuild program is one of the premier YouthBuild programs in the country, recognized by Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and the Obama Administration for its commitment to youth leadership development and service, and has achieved a 100% youth placement rate in post secondary education twice out of the over the past 4 years. Robert recently was recognized as by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute as a 2010 Latino Innovator in the Green Economy.  Robert was born and raised in East Los Angeles and graduated from Garfield High School. He attended the prestigious Berkelee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills
